"On your marks, get set...": My Journey Back To Nepal

The last time I was in Nepal I found myself in a cave with a motley crew of spiritual seekers. My intention was to spend 40 nights as a meditating troglodyte but by day 21 I had the realisation that I wanted my contribution to the world to be a little more focused in the physical realm. I bid farewell to my friends and the old Buddhist Monk who was camped close by (who only slept for an hour a day, but that's a story for another time) and meandered down the mountain, wondering what my calling was and how I could make a difference.

Fast forward six years and I am heading back to Nepal with acupuncture needles in tow and years of study under my belt to help assist, treat and support people in need of medical assistance in rural areas where there's limited primary healthcare services available.

I've felt the full spectrum of emotions in the lead up to this venture. I guess the lingering fear comes from an inability to really imagine what it's going to be like and then I wonder whether I'm going to be good enough, fast enough, strong enough.

Only time will tell...
