A complete system of medicine

Here’s the thing I love most about Chinese medicine: it’s a complete system of medicine in its own right. But it’s often viewed as an add on, last resort or some vague mystical thing your aunty mentioned once at Christmas lunch.

I don’t use Western medical diagnoses in clinic though yes, I’ve studied them and I know my differentials. So if you come in and say you’ve got Crohn’s (or PCOS, or Hashimoto's etc), I know what that means from a biomedical perspective but what I really care about is how that’s showing up in your body, through a Chinese medicine lens. Chinese medicine treats you as a whole person, not just a label or diagnosis.

Because here’s the thing, two people with the same diagnosis might get totally different Chinese medicine treatments. Different herbs. Different acupuncture points. Different treatment. That’s why I’ll ask you about seemingly unrelated things such as sleep, digestion, stress, your 3pm energy dip, and of course your bowels. To you, it might feel a bit odd or nosy. But to us, it’s golden information

Chinese medicine is about patterns, relationships, and how your body’s systems are working (or not working) together. We look at the physical stuff, but we also work with internal medicine, energy flow, emotional wellbeing, and the stuff that lives under the surface. No stone left unturned.

I love reading bloods and interpreting them through a Chinese medicine lens. I love combining herbs with quality supplements. I love oils and bodywork. I love holding space for you to unpack what’s weighing on you if that’s what you need.

This is the kind of care a lot of people wish they found earlier, or the kind they wish they got from their GP. Chinese medicine is gentle yet powerful. It’s about helping your body find its centre again. And because it’s a natural process, it takes time. Patience. Commitment. Real, lasting change comes from showing up and doing the work. And if you’re already doing that, thank yourself.

If you’re someone who’s dipping your toe in now and then, that’s okay too. I’ll be here when you’re ready to dive a bit deeper. And if you’re someone quietly suffering, not sure if Chinese medicine is for you, please, come in. Let’s chat. Let’s reassess. Let’s sketch out a plan that works for you.

Because once you open the door to this kind of medicine, you might be surprised by how supported, held, and rebalanced you can actually feel.
